“Randy, please have Mr. Fraser start preparing lunch. I’ve already drafted the menu, and he knows what to do
The moment Whitney finished speaking, Randy Graham glanced over at Jeremy.
Jeremy gave him a subtle look, and Randy immediately caught on, turning back to address Whitney.
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Curran, but Mr. Fraser just called in sick. He won’t be able to cook today.”
Caught off guard by this sudden announcement, Whitney immediately questioned him.
“What? Mr. Fraser called in sick? That can’t be right. He was perfectly fine this morning, running ten laps around the yard for his morning workout.”
“Ahem, he probably overdid it and wore himself out.”
“That’s impossible. He does that every single day.” Whitney was skeptical.
The Currans’ personal chef wasn’t just any cook. He was also a certified nutritionist who took health and wellness very seriously.
How could he possibly have run himself into the ground from overexertion?
Then again, feeling unwell could be caused by any number of things.
But if the chef was out of commission, who was going to cook?
More importantly, Amelia was visiting today. They couldn’t exactly order takeout for her, could they?
“Maybe we should call in Mr. Wolfe from the Curran Estate.”
“No need to go through all that trouble. I’ll cook.”
Just then, Jeremy chimed in, trying to sound casual.
“What? You’re going to cook? You know how to cook?”
Not just Whitney-his own mother-but even Amelia was surprised.
“Yeah, I’m pretty good at it. Since it’s rare for you to visit, it’s only right that I personally make you something delicious.”
Would you look at that! Would you just listen to what this boy was saying!
It suddenly dawned on Whitney.
The Currans had hosted guests countless times before. Important visitors and heiresses from prestigious families had come and gone over the years.
Never once had she heard her son offer to do something like this.

She recalled how over the past few days, this rascal had been setting aside time every day to have Aidan Fraser teach him how to cook.
And how convenient that today, of all days, Aidan just happened to “wear himself out” from his morning jog.
This was clearly all orchestrated by her scheming son.
Gosh, she was only just realizing her son had a thousand tricks up his sleeve and was playing the long game.
As his mother, she naturally played along. “Yes, yes, yes! You’re a great cook. You should definitely handle lunch today.”
Even though she’d never actually seen her son cook and had no idea if he was any good.
But her son had inherited his father’s jack-of-all-trades talent. After all, it was his father’s amazing cooking that had won her heart in the first place.
She had faith that her son would be just as skilled in the kitchen.
Amelia was also curious. This man had been a trust fund kid his entire life. He probably never had to lift a finger for housework or step foot in a kitchen.
But then again, she was the same way. She’d never had to do chores or cook growing up either.
Even though her relationship with the Nygards had soured back when she lived there, she never had to lift a finger.
After all, there were plenty of butlers and maids.
The place where Jeremy lived was incredibly spacious, complete with multiple kitchens, living rooms, and dining areas.
He deliberately chose the open kitchen closest to where they were sitting. He wanted Amelia to get a good look at him cooking for her.
“Do you need me to help wash vegetables or anything?” Amelia offered.
She might not know how to actually cook, but she could at least help out with prep work.
“No need. Just go relax and enjoy yourself.”
“Oh, come on, let Amelia help you! You can’t handle all of that by yourself,” Whitney urged.
Was her idiot son really this clueless?
Didn’t he know how romantic cooking together could be?
