Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 601

Dusk was fast approaching. Charlotte parked in the driveway and had just stepped into the foyer when the housekeeper hurried over. "Miss Sterling, you're back…" Before the housekeeper could say more, Charlotte spotted Evander sitting in the living room, clearly having waited for some time. She paused, surprised, then walked over. "What are you doing here?"

He gazed at her. "I wanted to see you, so I came."

His intense stare made her uncomfortable, and she instinctively looked away. "That night was an exception."

"From the look on your face, you seem rather displeased."

"What would I be displeased about?"

Evander leaned back in his chair, the corners of his lips curling into a slight smile. "Displeased that I… didn't do anything."

Heat rushed to her cheeks, and she tossed her handbag at him. He caught it with a laugh, simultaneously pulling her into his lap. His hand settled on her slender waist as she sat sideways across his legs. "You're planning to get a DNA test for Shane?"

Her brow furrowed. "How did you know?"

"Elliot told me."

"…"
