Darren said, “Angela, you can’t talk to your father like that. He’s giving me a lead.”
“How is that a lead? You’re too easily satisfied. Don’t you know it’s impossible to get a meeting with the head of Aurelius Dominion? He’s deliberately making things difficult for you!”
“No one knows the true identity of the man in charge, and neither do I. However, the General Manager of the Aurelius Dominion Group is a man named Orion Foxley.
“Orion holds a lot of power in the company. If you can get in touch with him, you might be able to meet the man in charge. At the very least, Orion could pass on a message for you.”
“Dad, you’ve worked with Aurelius Dominion for so many years. Why don’t you come with us?”
Callum bristled with anger. She actually wanted him to go with them? Was she trying to tie them all to the same sinking ship?
Darren quickly grabbed Angela’s hand. “Angela, don’t pressure your father anymore. I’ll go find Orion myself.”
Darren said to Callum, “Thank you for the lead, sir. I’ll take it from here. I’ll go find Orion now and hopefully clear up this misunderstanding. I hope this won’t affect the Everhart Group any further. I’ll be on my way.”
Darren left after saying his piece, not even thinking to take Angela with him.
Angela stood there, stunned, as she watched him walk away.
What was that about? Why didn’t he take her?
Callum looked at Angela and said, “Looks like he doesn’t want you to come.”
“So what if he doesn’t?” Angela retorted. “I can still chase after him, can’t I?”
Callum was speechless.
“Darren, stop! Darren, why didn’t you wait for me? Stop right there!”
Darren stopped. It was Angela.
