Grace replied, "You're such a smooth-talker."
Mrs. Lockwood was now questioning her sanity.
"Mom, do you even know who he is?"
Mrs. Lockwood's voice nearly cracked.
Grace said nonchalantly, "Of course I do. He's my grandson, Simon. But... who are you?"
Mrs. Lockwood felt a surge of panic. She'd been so preoccupied with the Marie situation that she'd let her guard down, allowing this old bastard and his young scoundrel to take advantage. It was clear that while they were distracted, the old man had been brainwashing her mother-in-law.
Simon was incredibly smug. He was an expert in romance, so teaching his grandfather how to wrap an old woman around his finger had been easy.
Now, the old woman was blissfully happy, believing she and her grandfather had lived a long, wonderful life together, surrounded by a loving family.
She thought she was the luckiest woman in the world.
Natalie stepped forward and gently took Grace's wrist to check her pulse. Her physical condition was stable. It wasn't that her Alzheimer's had worsened; she had been brainwashed.
Those two had been working on the old woman tirelessly while no one was watching.
It was despicable. He had deceived her in her youth, and now he was deceiving her in her old age!
Mrs. Lockwood quickly grabbed Grace's hand. "Mom, it's me, your daughter-in-law! This is Natalie, this is your grandson, Terence, and these are your beloved great-grandchildren!"
"Great-grandma."
Hearing Lucas call out to her, Grace was overjoyed. She turned to Edgar and said, "Edgar, look at our great-grandson. He's so adorable. It's just a shame our great-granddaughter is so beautiful but can't speak."
