"A history of allergies? My son is dead. Why are you asking this now? Are you trying to shift the blame?"
Elaine was hostile. Natalie's eyes darkened as she explained, "Marcus Ward's throat swelled up, blocking his airway. Although we administered an emergency dose of sodium methylprednisolone succinate, I'm sorry to say we couldn't revive him."
At Natalie's words, Elaine's eyes turned red.
She glared. "Natalie, my son didn't have any allergies! You're just saying all this to avoid responsibility, aren't you?"
Elaine stared at Natalie with blood-red eyes, looking as if she wanted to tear her to pieces.
"I just want to know the cause of death, and I believe you do too. I recommend an autopsy."
"My son is dead, and now you want to cut him open? Natalie, you are a monster!"
"Marcus Ward's death was deliberate. To find the real cause, we need an autopsy. I hope you'll agree to it."
"My son died so young, before he could even get married. He can't even be buried in our family's ancestral plot. And now you want to mutilate his body, so he can't even rest in peace? Natalie, you're too cruel. You did this to get back at my daughter, didn't you? You killed my son as revenge against my daughter, right?"
Elaine hated herself now for ever trusting Natalie.
"You had a grudge against my daughter, so how could I have ever believed you could save my son?" Elaine trembled all over. "Natalie, you killed my son, and I will not let you get away with it. I'll make you pay with your life!"
Terence stood protectively by Natalie. "We will investigate Marcus Ward's death thoroughly, but we need your cooperation."
