Victoria had never allowed Natalie to have a hand in her grandson's education; she despised her.
Yet here she was, teaching the Lockwood heir so well.
Lucas was known throughout high society as a little terror, but now he was becoming polite and well-mannered, and had even been accepted into the youth program at the Helios Institute for Advanced Minds, while her own grandson had been rejected.
The thought of Lucas’s success made Victoria grit her teeth in frustration.
Why did Lucas get to be so successful? It was infuriating!
Darren was reeling from the blow. He had assumed Terence was behind the Cross Group’s bankruptcy, only to find out he’d been defeated by a five-year-old child.
“Impossible, it’s impossible!”
Just then, Hanley stepped forward. “Dad, it’s true! It was Lucas! I saw him hack into our company’s system at school that day. It was him, he’s the one who ruined our company.”
Hanley wanted his father to punish Lucas, but he had no idea what a devastating blow his words were to Darren.
So he hadn’t even lost to Terence, but to Terence’s son.
How could he face that? He felt he had lost even more face in front of Natalie.
“You, shut your mouth! Shut up!” Darren shouted angrily.
He shoved Hanley hard, and the boy fell to the floor.
Victoria rushed to help Hanley up.
“What are you doing? Lucas is the one who hurt us! Why aren’t you going after him? Why are you taking your anger out on your own child?”
He was Terence’s son, a five-year-old boy!
