Natalie wanted everyone to know that Marie had harmed her own brother. More importantly, she wanted the Wards to face the reality of who was truly responsible for their son’s condition!
Terence's words sent a jolt of fear through Marie.
The car hadn’t been in a prior accident. Her parents had said that just to get her acquitted. The moment her brother woke up, it would all be over for her.
Mrs. Lockwood asked Natalie excitedly, “Natalie, is that what you're thinking? You're saving Mr. Ward so he can point the finger at Marie himself?”
Natalie nodded. “The victim knows best how the accident happened. He knows who harmed him. Since the Wards refuse to believe anyone else, let their own son tell them who did this to him!”
Wow, so that was it.
Realizing this, Mrs. Lockwood felt a pang of guilt for calling Natalie a fool earlier. She said, “Natalie, I'm so sorry. I misunderstood. I thought you were just having a bleeding-heart moment, insisting on saving their son even after they played you. But this was your plan all along.”
Natalie nodded, then looked at the Wards. “You said earlier that if I save your son, you'll give me 50% of the Ward Group's shares.”
Richard paused for a moment, then nodded. “Yes. If you save my son, I will give you 50% of the Ward Group's shares.”
At this point, as long as Natalie was willing to save his son, he would have agreed to anything.
Originally, Natalie had no interest in the shares. But now that Marie was free, she wouldn't yield a single percent.
“Go and draw up a share transfer agreement right now,” Natalie said. “After you sign it and I've reviewed it, I'll continue treating your son.”
