Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 411

Terence's expression suddenly shifted, his tone growing heavy. "Just because of a necklace, they made you kneel outside in the heat holding a basin of water to apologize?"

His eyes turned dark and menacing.

How dare the Cross family treat Natalie like that? What right did they have to bully her?

"I was so foolish," Natalie said. "I wasn't even sure if Marie was framing me. I actually thought she might have really lost the necklace. After all, she said her late husband gave it to her.

When she used it as an excuse to humiliate me, I thought she was just heartbroken because it was a gift from him. When she made things difficult for me, I actually felt sorry for her, thinking she was just a grieving, devoted widow. I didn't blame her for misunderstanding me; I was just afraid they would kick me out, because I wanted to be near my child. Now I see how ridiculous I was."

Marie’s heart wasn't with her late husband, but with her ex-husband.

She had endured the humiliation of kneeling in front of the villa in the sweltering heat just so she wouldn't be thrown out, just so she could stay close to her son.

Thinking back on it now, she realized how absurd it was. She had been framed.

Why did she accept their unreasonable demands back then?

She was so naive.

Suddenly, Terence pulled Natalie into his arms. "You're not foolish," he said. "You have a good heart. You assumed others were like you, and because of that good heart, you couldn't bear to leave your child. You chose to suffer injustice and accept their cruelty. I promise you, everyone who hurt you will pay. And I promise that you will never have to suffer like that again. You can be safe with me, sheltered from every storm."

Natalie was stunned when Terence pulled her into an embrace, and even more shocked by the words that followed.

She quickly struggled to her feet.

She didn't want him to see her weakness, nor did she want him to see how moved she was.

She had once trusted Darren just as much, and what did she get in return?
