When Hanley heard this, he asked excitedly, "Auntie Marie, is that really true?"
His grandmother was paralyzed in bed, her body contorted, drooling constantly and wailing. It was a terrifying sight.
But that was the same grandmother who had loved him so much. Seeing her like this broke Hanley’s heart. Now, hearing that his aunt had hired the best doctor and was confident she could be cured, he was thrilled.
"Of course. Don't you worry, I'll spare no expense to get your grandmother treated. I know you haven't been sleeping well with her being sick. Go change your clothes, take a nice shower, and get some rest. I'll take care of this medicine."
Hanley nodded. His mother had said these pills would only alleviate his grandmother's condition, not cure it. If his aunt could actually cure her, that would be even better.
After Hanley left, a cold expression crept over Marie’s face. She couldn't believe that little brat had gone to Natalie for medicine.
There was no way she was going to let Natalie cure that old hag. Just as Marie was about to throw the pills in the trash, she had a better idea.
Her wedding to Darren had to happen soon. With the old woman in this state, things were being held up.
If these pills could cure her just enough for them to hold the wedding first, then they wouldn't be a complete waste.

The Cross Estate
"It's… it's all Natalie! That bitch! It's all her f-f-fault!"
Victoria was still cursing Natalie's name. Darren, who was by her side, tried to soothe her. "Mom, calm down. Please, eat something. You've barely eaten in two days."
"How… how can I eat? L-look at me… being like this is w-worse than death."
Victoria's voice was like a distorted recording, harsh and unsettling to listen to.
