Lucas laughed at the sheer absurdity of it all.
"Just make your grandma healthy again? Why stop there? Shouldn't you ask for her to be young again, maybe back to eighteen? Would that be good enough?"
An ugly expression crossed Hanley's face. "Lucas, I wasn't talking to you."
Lucas shot back without hesitation, "This is my house. I didn't invite you here!"
"You think I like being in your house?"
Hanley clutched the pills. "I'm leaving now."
He was soaking wet and had no way of getting home by himself.
Just as Hanley stepped out the door, Terence appeared.
"Let one of the Lockwood family drivers take you home."
"I don't need it. I'll find my own way back."
"We're not concerned about you," Terence said coolly. "We just don't want Natalie to worry. As disappointing as you are as a son, you should at least get home safely."
Hanley's face soured. Terence arranged for someone to drive him back.
Natalie picked up the clothes Hanley had thrown on the floor and said to Lucas, "I'm sorry he got your clothes dirty. I'll wash them and give them back to you."
Lucas took the clothes from her. "It's fine. It wasn't your fault."
Liana took Natalie's hand and began to sign.
[Natalie is the best mommy in the world. Hanley is still too young. When he grows up, he'll realize his mommy is the very, very best person in the world.]
