"That's right! The family doesn't need your money. We'd be afraid of angering the spirits!"
"Our senior aunts are from our grandmothers' generation, yet you two dared to be rude to them. Bullying them is the same as disrespecting our entire family!"
"You think a bit of dirty money gives you the right to humiliate women of our grandmothers' generation? You're this arrogant with all of us standing right here. I can only imagine how much those two old women must have suffered when they came alone."
Victoria saw the growing anger among the relatives and began to panic, not knowing what to do.
Just then, someone noticed the plaque hanging over the entrance of the Cross family villa: *A Legacy of Honor*.
It was a plaque that every Cross family household displayed.
"People like them who bully their own family elders don't deserve to display that plaque."
"Brothers, let's smash it! Let them know that you can't get away with disrespecting family elders just because you have money."
"Yeah, smash their plaque. *A Legacy of Honor*... People who bully and insult their elders have no right to display the Cross family plaque."
With that, a few of the younger, able-bodied Cross men moved to take down the plaque.
Darren quickly stepped in their way, saying sternly, "My father and my brother hung that plaque themselves. What do you think you're doing?"
The patriarch slammed his cane on the ground. "So you do know that plaque was hung by your father and brother. That proves they knew they were part of the Cross family. When your father and brother were alive, they were always polite and humble to everyone in the family. But look at you now! You've made a little money and forgotten yourselves, daring to disrespect your own family elders!"
