She had been rejecting Edwin nonstop.
Yet in the end, even she secretly longed for that kind of life. Saying it out loud would sound ridiculous, wouldn’t it?
Yvonne turned her head away, refusing to acknowledge anything Edwin said.
"You don’t need to tell me any of this. I have my own principles and my own thoughts."
She drew in a steady breath, deciding to follow what she truly believed.
"I know what I want to do, so saying all this won’t change anything."
A shadow crossed Edwin’s eyes.
He never expected that after everything he said, he’d end up nothing more than a backdrop to Yvonne’s resolve.
He thought she would seriously consider his words, but had everything he said been useless?
The thought left him feeling bitter.
"Yvonne, are you playing with me?"
"I’m just making it clear that I don’t want to hear any of this."
Yvonne took a deeper breath. "I already said it before—there’s no possibility between us. No matter how you cling to me, the outcome stays the same. I hope you understand your identity and your place."
When she finished, she pointed toward the door, making her intentions unmistakably clear.
"I said leave now. Otherwise, I’m calling the police."
Seeing how firm she was, Edwin understood that staying any longer would only make things worse for both of them.
If that was the case, why force it now? He could always find another chance later.
"I won’t give up."
Dropping those words, Edwin walked out.
Watching his departing figure, Yvonne collapsed onto the sofa, breathing heavily.
She never expected her day to turn out this dramatic.
