Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1814

Wasn’t it because Yvonne had some faint feelings for him, which was why she acted this way?

That was what Edwin believed. In his mind, this possibility made perfect sense.

He never expected that, in Yvonne’s eyes, she actually found him this unbearable.

"Yvonne, you really disappointed me."

Edwin looked deeply wounded.

He even pressed a hand to his chest, as if to show how dissatisfied he was.

Seeing this, Yvonne only found it ridiculous.

"What are you performing for me? If you have the energy for theatrics, why not think about how to fix your own mess?"

Yvonne began listing out everything he had done over the years.

"Tell me, what have you actually accomplished all these years?"

"What’s that supposed to mean?"

Edwin couldn’t understand what mistake he had supposedly made to deserve this scolding.

"You’ve been idle for years. Tell me, what have you done?"

Yvonne found it absurd. "Why do you think I fell for Lucas? You really don’t know the difference between you two? You’re still clueless?"

"You said it yourself—since I’m his uncle, that means part of what he earns will eventually be mine."

Edwin’s reasoning wandered completely off track.

"Since I get a share of his money, why bother competing with him? As long as someone in the family is capable, isn’t it perfectly fine for me to take it easy?"

He looked at Yvonne, confused. "Besides, even if you married me, I wouldn’t shortchange you. I’d give you every resource you deserve."

Hearing that, Yvonne was unexpectedly tempted.
