So why bother caring about all that? It was better to focus on improving her own abilities.
If those resources were hers to use, then climbing higher wasn’t the issue, keeping her position once she got there was what really mattered.
At that moment, Aurora saw things with perfect clarity. She finally recognized that her earlier mindset had been flawed.
Fortunately, the show was still filming, and her stubbornness hadn’t delayed production or hurt her studio.
In the end, it wasn’t too late to turn things around.
There was no point dwelling on what was already in the past.
Aurora looked around at the others with a polite smile.
“You don’t have to treat me differently,” she said calmly.
“Just carry on with what you’re doing. I’m no different from any of you. I’m just another member of the crew. My identity doesn’t change that.”
After speaking, she turned to leave and motioned for Megan to follow. She wanted to get back to work without their hovering slowing her down.
As they walked off, Megan muttered under her breath, pouting, “Unbelievable. The moment they found out who you really are, they turned into a pack of sycophants.
“The way they flipped their attitudes—my great-grandmother would’ve dropped her jaw. Pure Oscar-level acting.”
Aurora didn’t seem fazed. “Honestly, it doesn’t surprise me. We’ve both seen this kind of thing plenty of times. Their change in attitude is only human nature.
“When someone around you suddenly rises to a level you can’t reach, of course you start trying to get close to them.”
She could understand their mindset, but that didn’t mean she respected it.
If it had nothing to do with her, she could easily ignore it.
But now that *she* was the target of their flattery, pretending not to notice wasn’t really an option.
