Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1623

If it hadn’t been absolutely necessary, Aurora wouldn’t have changed her mind or her decision at all.

She sighed softly, then told Megan everything about the conversation she’d had with Lucas.

“So, I figured that if there’s an easier path, why insist on taking the hardest one?”

Her gaze grew firmer as she continued, “Besides, it’s Yvonne who’s crossing the line, not me. Why should I be the one to bend over backward for her?

“The world’s changing fast. If I don’t adapt, I’ll only get left behind.”

She used to rely purely on grit and determination, but now she understood that courage needed direction. Blind persistence would only burn her out.

If she had a strong foundation behind her, she might as well use it instead of holding herself back.

Hearing her words, Megan felt a wave of admiration. Aurora had grown so much, not just in attitude, but in how she viewed the world.

The woman standing before her wasn’t the same as before; she was stronger, wiser, and more grounded.

And that realization made Megan quietly proud. After all, it was her best friend who had changed for the better.

“Aurora, I’m really glad you see things this way,” she said with heartfelt relief.

Aurora smiled faintly. “I’ve just learned to accept reality. The world doesn’t revolve around me, and it’s time I start living the life I actually want.

“If people keep pushing me, and I still hold onto things that no longer serve me, that’s when I’ll truly lose everything.

“Living in this world means learning, evolving, and rising above. Yvonne—and life itself—just taught me my first lesson.”
