Natalie jumped in, her voice shaking. “Jennifer, it’s not true. I swear, I’d never do something like that. Don’t listen to Isabella. She’s just jealous. She hates me, always has, because Ethan’s always loved me. He only married her because of me. That’s why she’s so bitter, always trying to bring me down, any way she can.”
Isabella watched Natalie quietly, waiting for her to finish. Then she spoke up, her tone calm but sharp. “Ethan told me everything on our wedding night. When I found out he was just using me, that I was nothing but a pawn, you have no idea how much I hated both of you. But I moved on. Ethan doesn’t love me, so why should I waste any more time loving him? I let go long ago. We’re divorcing now, the papers are almost done.”
“After this, whoever Ethan loves is none of my business anymore.”
“But no matter how angry I was, I never wanted to hurt anyone. Just because your heart is twisted, Natalie, doesn’t mean everyone else is as cruel as you are.”
“You know exactly whether you sent Sophia to my shop to stir up trouble. You can fool other people, but you can’t fool yourself. The evidence is real. Not a single piece is fake.”
“Oh, and I’ve already handed everything over to the police. Jennifer, what you’re looking at now is just a copy.”
“I trust the law to get to the bottom of this. They’ll see the truth. No one’s going to accuse you without reason.”
Isabella continued, “I’m pretty sure the police will be here soon to take you and Sophia to the station for questioning. You wanted Sophia to call the reporters? Well, I did too. Let’s see how you like it when they’re here snapping photos as you get taken away.”
“You love the spotlight, right? You’ll get plenty today.”
Isabella’s words hit hard. Both Jennifer and Natalie went pale.
