After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 605

Harold gave Barbara a gentle reminder.

“I know, don’t worry. There’s no way I’d say anything about that.”

If she did, the family elders might get the wrong idea about Isabella. Barbara was totally on Harold’s side, determined to help him win over the woman he liked.

Just then, Harold’s phone rang. It was his mom.

“Harold, are you free this weekend?” Samantha sounded hopeful.

“What’s up, Mom?” Harold kept his answer vague. If it was something he didn’t want to do, he could always say he was busy. If it sounded fun, he’d suddenly have all the time in the world.

“I’ve found a lovely girl for you. I’ve already talked to her family, and they’re a great match for us. She’s not from Cabinda though, she’s from Harrisburg.”

Harold shrugged, even though his mom couldn’t see him. “That’s not a problem. Flights are easy these days. Harrisburg is just two hours away.”

Samantha was on a roll. “She really is something special. Educated, beautiful, in great shape, and she’s got her life together. She works at her family’s company and she’s as capable as Barbara.”

“Make sure you’re free for two days this weekend. I’ll take you to Harrisburg so you two can meet.”

Then she sighed. “You’re not getting any younger, you know. I’m starting to get anxious. All my friends are grandmothers already, but you don’t even have a girlfriend.”

Harold tried not to laugh. “Mom, I can’t. I already promised some important clients I’d play golf with them this weekend. The plans are set. If I suddenly bail, it could hurt our business.”
