After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 594

Ethan looked at her, his voice steady, “Isabella, I’m not losing my mind. I just regret everything. I know I messed up.” He let out a sigh, almost defeated. “You probably don’t believe a word I say right now. That’s okay. We still have our whole lives ahead of us, don’t we?” His eyes softened. “Even if we end up divorced, I’ll just start over and chase you all over again. I told you, you’re the only woman I’ve ever married and ever will.”

Isabella stood up, brushing him off like he was just another problem to solve. “You can do whatever you want, Ethan. I have guests to deal with downstairs. If you want ice for your face, go get it yourself.” She turned to leave without looking back.

Ethan jumped up and grabbed her arm, his face a picture of pitiful desperation. “Isabella, look at me. I’m all bruised up and you don’t even care? You used to freak out whenever I sneezed. Can’t you just help me with an ice pack?”

She pulled her arm free, a cold smile on her lips. “That was when I loved you. When I cared, it made sense to worry. Now? I don’t love you anymore. I don’t want you. Your life is none of my business. I’m sure someone else will feel sorry for you. Want me to call Natalie for you? Or maybe Olivia, Sophia’s friend? I’m sure they’d be happy to fuss over you.”

Ethan’s face clouded over.

“Ethan, you’re on your own now.” Isabella walked away. There was no chance she’d help him, not even a little.

He called after her, voice cracking, “Isabella, wait. Honey. Please…”

She didn’t turn around. No matter how much he pleaded, Isabella ignored him, her heels clicking down the hallway. All Ethan could do was stand there, helpless, watching as she disappeared into the elevator.
