“Let Isabella regret it. Who does she think she is? If it weren’t for my family, she never would’ve even met you, much less had the chance to marry you.”
“You gave her the title of Mrs. Adams and she didn’t even value it. She’ll regret it, just wait.”
Ethan’s voice was soft. “She’s not going to regret it. I’m the one who will.”
He paused for a second, then said, “It’s alright. Once we’re divorced, I’ll just chase after her again. I’ll win her back. I’ll make her fall for me all over again.”
Jordan stared at him. “You seriously plan on getting back together with her after the divorce?”
Ethan didn’t answer, but his silence said everything.
“Ethan, does it really have to be Isabella? There are so many women out there who like you. You could have your pick, and any one of them would be better than Isabella.”
“I don’t want anyone else. Besides Natalie, Isabella’s the only one I want. Would you give Natalie to me?”
Jordan let out a breath. “You know, I used to love Natalie too. You just beat me to confessing. I didn’t say anything because I cared about our friendship, all three of us. I didn’t want a girl to come between us.”
“The truth is, I married Isabella so I’d have a reason to see Natalie. That’s all.”
Ethan had never admitted this out loud before. Tonight was the first time he told Jordan that he’d once loved Natalie.
