After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 528

Laura was helping carry things, which meant she didn’t get the chance to walk arm-in-arm with Isabella.

She watched Jesse and Harold, who were both being extra attentive, and couldn’t shake the feeling that Isabella was being put on the spot. The way they hovered around her felt a little too much.

“Laura, let me get that,” Jesse said, stepping in just in time to take the bags from her hands.

Harold picked up Isabella’s suitcase from Cynthia. He didn’t say much in front of the Adams family, but he still made sure Cynthia didn’t have to carry anything heavy. Since Barbara and Isabella were close friends, no one thought it was strange for him to be here with Barbara to pick Isabella up from the hospital.

Their group made its way out of the hospital, filling the hallway with chatter and the sound of footsteps.

Sophia hung back on purpose, taking Jennifer’s hand and slowing them down.

When they were far enough behind, Sophia leaned in and whispered, “Mom, look at her. She’s all buddy-buddy with Linda. The White Group is our biggest business rival, and she’s friends with Linda like it’s nothing. What are people supposed to think? She acts like she doesn’t care about our family at all. Everything she does feels so out of line for someone in her position.”

“If you ask me, Ethan should just divorce her. He didn’t even want this marriage in the first place. The sooner they split, the better for everyone.”

Jennifer stared at Isabella, surrounded by friends and family, and replied softly, “There’s no need to go after her anymore. Tomorrow, she might not even be your sister-in-law. Ethan promised her that after she was discharged, he would give her the divorce she wants.”

Isabella had been unconscious for hours after her accident. When she finally woke up, she didn’t even look at Ethan’s tired face before bringing up the divorce again. Jennifer heard about it and knew Isabella truly meant it this time.
