The strong smell of alcohol hit her as soon as she got close. She wrinkled her nose, mumbling, “Seriously? You just got here and you’re already this drunk?”
“You saw who you wanted to see, and you’re still in a mood,” she added under her breath. Still, she couldn’t just walk away and leave him like this.
Sticking her head back into the private room, she called out to her friends, “Laura, something came up. I have to head out early. My car keys are with you, right? Just call a rideshare for you guys later.”
“Park my car in your building’s lot for now. I’ll come pick it up tomorrow.”
Laura shot her a worried look and got up to follow her. When she spotted Isabella struggling to hold up a completely wasted Ethan, she paused in surprise. “Wow. Fate really has a sense of humor. Out of all the people in this place, you two manage to run into each other.”
“Is Mr. Adams drunk?” Laura asked.
“He’s basically dead weight right now. I have to get him home before something happens,” Isabella said, trying to shift Ethan’s arm for better support.
Laura laughed. “Everyone in Cabinda knows who Mr. Adams is. No one would dare mess with him. Besides, in this state, he couldn’t do anything even if he wanted to.”
“You can’t get him out of here by yourself. Call his driver in to help.” Laura handed Isabella her phone.
Isabella nodded and gestured for Laura to grab her phone and call the driver. His number was already in her contacts. Laura made the call and handed the phone back.
