The 'husband' Yvonne referred to was, of course, Julius. The Aurelius family still held considerable sway in Clayborne City.
She assumed the woman had the wrong person and prepared to leave after her warning.
Lowering herself to argue with this kind of vulgar woman was beneath her.
She'd just treat it as if she'd been bitten by a rabid dog.
And you can't exactly bite a dog back, can you?
She wasn't strong enough to fight, so for now, she'd have to swallow her anger.
But just as Yvonne took a step, Damaris moved forward, her fleshy body jiggling as she spat a spray of saliva directly onto Yvonne’s face.
"Pah! Who's your husband? You shameless little homewrecker. You dare to steal my man? You must have a death wish!"
With that, she lunged, grabbing a handful of Yvonne's hair and yanking it violently.
To Damaris, Yvonne's mention of a 'husband' could only mean Farmer. How could she tolerate a mistress challenging her so brazenly?
Yvonne cried out in pain. She hadn't expected this woman to be so barbaric, attacking her in public.
Panic began to set in, and she no longer underestimated her opponent. In a rush, she blurted out, "My husband is Julius! You've really got the wrong person! I'm not a mistress! Let go of me!"
Yvonne struggled as she tried to explain.
Damaris paused for a fraction of a second at the mention of Julius's name.
But in the next moment, she yanked Yvonne's head forward and spat a glob of saliva right in her face.
"Who do you think you are? It’s bad enough you're screwing my husband, but now you’re trying to pin your mess on someone else? Let me make it clear for you, my husband's name is Farmer. Now you remember, don't you!"
The words hit Yvonne like a bolt of lightning.
Farmer's wife?
