Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 429

“Aaaah!” A piercing scream echoed through the office.

Janina didn’t stop. She kept a firm grip on Yvonne’s hair and repeatedly slammed her head against the desk. She was careful, aiming for the forehead—it wouldn’t cause serious injury, but it would be incredibly painful.

“Janina, stop!”

Julius snapped out of his shock and grabbed Janina’s wrist. He and Wayne worked together to pull Yvonne free from her grasp, shielding her behind them. Then, Julius tried to restrain the frenzied Janina to prevent her from doing anything more drastic.

But before he could get close, Janina lashed out with a kick. Julius dodged just in time.

After putting some distance between them, his face turned terrifyingly dark, a heavy anger rising within him.

“Do you know what you’re doing? This is attempted murder! It’s against the law! If I call the police, you’ll be arrested and thrown in jail today. Do you think I don’t dare?”

Janina clapped her hands together, feeling a surge of satisfaction as she saw the two large, red welts on Yvonne’s forehead. “Attempted murder? I should be reporting you and Elena for the same thing! If I hadn’t been in the living room last night, the children might have… I haven’t even done anything serious, and you’re already losing it? It’s easy not to care when the pain isn’t yours.”

Julius was at a loss for words. He wanted to argue that he definitely wasn’t the one who put the snakes there. But if he denied it, it would all but prove his mother was responsible. And even though he believed his mother would never hurt the children, all the evidence pointed to either him or her.
