Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 418

Finch, on the other end of the line, heard Janina's voice and simply said, "I'll be right up."

West stood up. "I'll go to the kitchen and whip up a few more dishes."

Janina smiled and waved at her brother's retreating back, not caring whether he cooked himself or left it to The Tasting Room's chefs. Of course, her brother's cooking was better than any chef's at the restaurant, so he was probably going to cook himself.

Less than five minutes after Wendy hung up, Finch arrived at the private room.

He was very polite, greeting everyone with a smile as he came in.

As the host of the evening, Janina introduced Finch to Ava, Alan, and her family.

After the greetings, Finch sat down next to Wendy, directly across from West.

Finch was a skilled conversationalist, joining the laughter and chatter with ease.

Soon after, West and a waiter brought in several new dishes, placing them in front of Finch and Wendy.

Wendy said politely, "Thank you."

Beside her, Finch's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, but his expression quickly returned to normal.

The waiter left, and West returned to his seat.

Finch was a social chameleon, able to jump into almost any conversation. But whenever Wendy spoke to someone else, his hand, hidden beneath the table, would clench unconsciously.

The group ate and chatted for another hour or so before the gathering finally came to an end.

Everyone said their goodbyes and headed home.

Janina noticed West standing at the doorway, his gaze fixed on something in the distance. She walked up to him and waved a hand in front of his eyes. "What are you looking at, West?"

Startled, West snapped back to reality and cleared his throat. "Oh, nothing. Come on, let's go home."

Janina followed his line of sight and caught just a glimpse of Finch's car disappearing down the road.

Meanwhile, in the car.
