So, there was no reason for her to be embarrassed.
He was out of his mind at the time and probably didn't even remember what he had done.
As long as she kept quiet, no one would ever find out.
Right. Just bury it. Pretend it never happened.
"Wendy, don't be nervous. We're on in one minute," Maggie said, mistaking Wendy's distraction for pre-show jitters.
Wendy snapped back to the present, quickly looking down to smooth her dress. She instantly regained her composure. "Okay, I'm not nervous."
"Oh, my darlings, you can't be laughing like that when you get on stage. A little more restraint, please," Alan said as he walked in after finishing his tasks, spotting the women laughing freely.
He rested his chin on his hand, sizing up his "masterpieces" to see if any last-minute adjustments were needed.
Hmm... absolutely perfect.
"Alan, thank you so much. You're so busy, but you still came to support me," Janina said gratefully.
Alan waved his hand. "Of course. I don't just show up for anyone, you know."
Just as Janina was about to reply, a voice came from outside the door.
"Time to go!" a staff member called out to them.
And so it began.
The music swelled, and the four friends, dressed in Meridian's new collection, walked onto the runway one by one.
The masks were there to help ease their nerves.
Maggie had a powerful stage presence, her aura filling the space. She wasn't nervous at all. Melody, being an actress, handled the situation with ease.
Janina also presented her best self, her confidence rivaling that of the supermodels. Motherhood had changed her perspective and mindset in many ways.
Wendy was a little tense, but remembering Melody's words, she imagined the audience below as a flock of white geese.
The spotlight suddenly hit her, and a wave of applause rose from the front rows, helping to calm her heart.
Her gaze swept over the audience, and in the center of the third row, she met West's deep, intense eyes.
The man was leaning forward, elbows on his knees, his focus fixed on the stage.
