A Widow's Poison A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 715

And so, under the crushing weight of reality, Darleen and Xenia surrendered.

Later that morning, Yvette and Gabriel arrived at the estate. Yvette looked even worse than the day before.

Starla greeted them with a mocking smile. "What's with the long face? Am I ruining your chances of becoming a wealthy Mrs. Yelchin by taking everything on my way out?"

Yvette's face darkened instantly.

Starla laughed softly. "You have to admire my hustle, though, right? I doubt you've ever processed a divorce where the wife walks away with the entire empire."

"You're certainly the most shameless woman I've ever met," Yvette snapped.

Starla's smile vanished, replaced by a razor-sharp smirk. "When a man takes everything in a divorce, it's just 'business', because the woman was too weak to secure her share. But when a woman does it, she's 'shameless'. You're a woman, Yvette. Why are you so comfortable kneeling to a misogynistic mindset?"

"Do you really think women are in the wrong no matter what they do?"

Yvette grit her teeth. "You're just heartless."

"I love that word," Starla said lightly. "Are you done whining? Can we get down to business?"

Fairfax had ordered Yvette and Gabriel up at the crack of dawn to process the transfers. Gabriel had been coordinating with multiple banks since the middle of the night, dragging bank managers out of bed to push the transactions through.

Now, the dust had settled.

Yvette shoved a thick manifest toward Starla. "This is every liquid asset the Yelchin family has."

Starla took the folder, didn't even bother looking at it, and handed it straight over her shoulder to Garret. "Verify it."

"Right away," Garret nodded.

Yvette's eyes bugged out. "What is there to verify?! After everything you've pulled, the entire family is terrified of you. No one would dare hide a single cent!"

They all knew exactly what she was capable of.
