A Widow's Poison A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 705

Over the phone, Felix felt his heart sink at Brinley's words.

A dark, menacing silence radiated through the line.

"How much longer do you think you can gloat?" Brinley hissed. "I'm paying for my sins, and so are you!"

"Karma won't let any of us off the hook!"

"Shut your mouth!" Felix roared, absolutely livid.

The disasters piling up on the Fowler family really did feel like an unstoppable wave of divine retribution.

"You've got some nerve," Brinley spat. "You had me deal with Fairfax's retaliation against your family, and you manipulated me into saving that child."

"You used that baby to plot against the Yelchins, and you used him against me! You're pure evil..."

Just thinking about how many times she had begged Starla for that child's sake—even dropping to her knees for him—made Brinley's blood boil with rage.

She hung up the phone.

Tears poured down her face as she obsessively muttered the word "karma" over and over.

She had never believed in it before. But now, she did. She completely believed it.

Karma was absolutely real!

"You're right. This is karma!" Darleen's voice sneered from just behind her.

Brinley turned around, staring blankly at the older woman.

Darleen's eyes gleamed with unprecedented malicious delight. It was obvious she had overheard every word of the phone call.

She was reveling in Brinley's misery.

"The baby isn't even yours! Hahahaha!"

The laughter felt like salt rubbed in Brinley's fresh wounds. "What are you laughing at? He used that baby to play you, too."

"He tried to play us, sure, but at least we didn't lose to Felix Fowler!"
