What were they supposed to do?
Taking him in themselves was out of the question. With the path of destruction Starla was leaving in her wake, no one in their right mind dared to shelter a Yelchin right now.
But bringing him back to the office? If Starla decided to set the Yelchin Group headquarters ablaze, the family would lose their very last stronghold.
Darian glanced at Caden. "You're close with Starla. Why don't you call her?"
"Me? Call her?"
"What else are we going to do?" Darian groaned in frustration. "She wouldn't even give me the time of day!"
It was a rare privilege to be on speaking terms with Starla Lansbury these days. The woman was ready to flip Marina City upside down.
Left with no other option, Caden braced himself and dialed her number.
Meanwhile, back at the Yelchin estate, Starla had just returned to her room after enjoying the evening's dose of family drama. Tanya was already there, having made a habit of visiting every day just to watch the chaos unfold.
But Starla had caught onto something. Tanya spent an awful lot of time singing Herbert's praises. It was painfully obvious that Herbert had sent her to keep a watchful eye on Starla and Fairfax.
"Be honest with me," Starla asked abruptly. "How exactly did you get here tonight?"
Tanya's face froze. "Huh?"
"You've been dropping Herbert's name all evening. Did he drive you here? Did he buy you off?"
"He didn't drive me!" Tanya blurted out. "Rudolf did!"
