A Widow's Poison A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 657

The next morning.

Tanya had already left for the day.

Garret found Starla and gave her the overnight report. "Mr. Yelchin came back very late and completely intoxicated. He has no idea what happened in the basement," Garret stated.

"She beat her all night again?" Starla asked.

Garret nodded. "Yes."

Starla let out a soft laugh. "Since the child isn't Faraday's, I imagine Darleen had plenty of steam to blow off."

From now on, the second Darleen opened her eyes, she'd be looking for blood. For Brinley, it would be a living hell.

"Darleen didn't sleep a wink," Garret continued. "It was significantly worse than the previous night."

"Let them tear each other apart," Starla dismissed effortlessly.

When Brinley was eventually dragged into Starla's presence, she looked exactly as Garret had described. She was a battered, horrific mess. The bald spot on her head was glaringly obvious—a brutal testament to Darleen's venomous rage. It must have taken immense force to rip out that much hair.

Brinley used to be the picture of flawless elegance. She was Harriet's pampered princess and Faraday's adored wife, held on a pedestal by the entire Yelchin family. But she had thrown it all away.

Her eyes were bloodshot. "Are you satisfied now?" she rasped.

"Seeing you like this?" Starla smiled warmly. "I'm more than satisfied."

Brinley's breath hitched as Starla's smile deepened.

"How could I not be thrilled? This is exactly what I wanted to see."

Starla made zero effort to hide her vicious delight, which only made Brinley feel more suffocated.
