Fortunately, what I was worried about did not happen. Edward stood there and said nothing.

"I told you, it's not my fault!" Mark thought he was reasonable and shouted at me.-

"If you didn't drink and fight, they wouldn't blackmail you!" I was distressed by Mark's impenitence and slapped him again.

He would never know it was he who caused trouble again and again, which made my image in the heart of Edward become even more ridiculous.

Assistant Leng also went out.

Only Mark and I remained in the room.

"He won't care about you anymore." I didn't want to be angry with Mark any more, so I turned back and left because my heart was extremely sad.

Edward's words, in fact, were meant for me to hear.

Walking out of the club, I told my mother that Mark was fine.

Hearing this, my mother was very happy and specially told me, "Ashley, Edward is really powerful and able to solve this problem. You must make him happy when you are in the Xis. Don't let other women take him away, you know? Our family has to rely on Xis for the rest of our life."

"Mom, I know. I still have something to do. I'll hang up first." I suppressed my sadness and said to my mom.

I also wanted to please Edward, but I still couldn't touch him after seven years.

" Mistress, Master Xi asked you to get in the car." When I looked at the phone in a daze, the assistant came over.

I replied and followed him.

When I got in the car, Edward was making a phone call with a soft and gentle face.

On the other side of the phone, it should be Betty.

"I'll pick you up as soon as I finish visiting grandpa. It's cold outside. Don't catch a cold." When he spoke, he looked tenderly. I had never seen the tenderness before.

At this moment I finally realized that Edward was gentle. But his gentleness had never belonged to me.

Seeing me get in the car, he didn't care about me. He said a few more words to Betty, after that his face turned cold again. He said to me, "Grandpa wants us to go to the hospital together."

"Okay." I nodded.

Grandfather's health was poor, so he could only live in the hospital room on New Year's Eve. I wanted to go there early, but it was difficult to control my emotions and I was in a bad mood. I was afraid that grandpa would see it and affect his recovery.

In the whole family of Xi, the only person who was enthusiastic to me was a grandfather. I didn't want to hurt his heart.

Assistant Leng drove us to the hospital.

Edward looked at me coldly and said, "Grandpa's condition has improved. Don't forget what you promised me after his birthday which is coming in 15 days."

"I know." I looked out of the window. Did he need to remind me all the time?

He couldn't wait to divorce me and marry Betty like this?

She knew that she couldn't really complain to Edward, because she didn't dare.

Edward, who was beside me, must have heard the content of the phone call, but he did not ask anything, agreeing with the reason I found.

"My mother asked us to go back for dinner. I refused." I couldn't help telling him what had happened just now. I hoped I could be lucky enough to change it.

"Good. Anyway, I'm going to pick up Betty."Edward nodded.

I was speechless and it was like bringing disgrace on my own head.

At this moment, he did not want to have any relationship with my family. Even it was perfunctory, he did not want to do it again.

I stood in the cold wind, watching Edward get on the car and leave.

I knew that my mother likes my elder brother and younger brother, but I should distinguish right from wrong. It is because of my mother's preference that Mark had nothing to do all day long. He just wanted to gamble and caused trouble.

Mark was much more confident in front of our mother. He said discontentedly to me, "Sister, are you kidding me? I am your biological brother. You hit me in front of my brother-in-law. Can you give me some respect?"

After listening to this, I immediately became angry and said, "Mark, listen. If you weren't my biological brother, your body would have been thrown into the river."

"Well, Ashley Mu, are you courageous? After marrying into the Xis, your temper is getting worse. Do you think that we are a burden to you?" Mark said sarcastically to me.
