A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 776

Yvan internally screamed a loud "oh no," fearing that the good image he'd painstakingly built up in front of Logan was about to crumble in an instant...

Sure enough, Logan walked in, catching Donna and Yvan in an embrace. His brows knitted together in seconds, and he tentatively called out, "Mr. Boyd?"

Yvan jolted apart from Donna as if he'd been electrocuted, "Logan..."

Logan didn't say a word, just looked at Yvan with those eyes that seemed to ask, "Why did you let me down?"

Facing Logan's gaze, Yvan felt utterly powerless. Maybe this woman really was someone from his past, and this was his mistake to bear.

Yvan started, "I'm sorry."

"You don't have to apologize to me."

Logan stared down Yvan, acting as if Donna wasn’t even there, "You should be apologizing to my mom."

"I…" Yvan was at a loss for words. His memory of the past was a blank slate, and he didn't even know where to begin. Carl let out a sigh from the sidelines.

Logan turned his gaze to Carl, "Hey Carl, what brings you here today?"

Donna, feeling curious, wondered how such a young kid could seem so dismissive of her.

She butted in, "Hey, whose kid are you?"

Logan shot Donna a glance before his gaze returned to Carl, continuing their conversation as if she hadn't spoken, making Donna feel utterly ignored. Angered, she was about to step forward to teach this brat a lesson when Yvan pulled her back.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Donna froze on the spot, disbelief written all over her face. She stared at Logan for a long time, then stepped back, her fingers clenched together, "You… You're Yvan’s kid?"

No... no... Wasn’t Yvan’s ex-wife in jail? How could this kid suddenly appear? And he’s the child of that woman and Yvan?

After waiting so long for Yvan to be available again, and even getting this opportunity to attend the Star Film Festival from the agency, how could she let a little brat ruin all her plans?!

"You haven’t introduced yourself yet." Logan watched Donna’s panic with amusement, hands in his pockets, resembling a mini version of a stoic Yvan, "What’s your relationship with my dad? A fling, a mistress?"

For a kid to wield such words with such ease, Yvan, as a father, couldn’t help but feel ashamed.

His son must have heard such phrases too often growing up.
