A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 756

Declan shot up like he'd been struck by lightning, disbelief etched across his face as he stared at Yvan, repeating the key word in Yvan's statement, "Jealous?"

Just as Yvan was about to confirm, Declan let out a cold laugh, sweeping everything off the table in a fit of rage.

The clatter echoed through the hotel suite, making both Keaton and Yvan frown. "Blowing up like this and you say you're not jealous?"

"I'm not."

Declan muttered, as if trying to convince himself or perhaps someone else, "I'm not jealous. Why would I be jealous over a woman like that?"

Before Yvan and Keaton could intervene, Declan slammed a fist on the table, "Jealous over Chloe? Her? She's nothing but a lowly mutt! I couldn’t care less about her! She's just a dog I don't want anyone else adopting. How could she even be worth my jealousy?"

Is Chloe even worth it!

Such a pretentious and fake woman! She's just naturally deceitful! To her, Matilda is more important than me. After all the time I've wasted on her, she turns out to be heartless!

Declan had drunk too much, his mind foggy and consciousness half-awake, hoping this state would help him sleep better, but to no avail.

Every sense was numbed, yet the pain remained sharp and clear.

Why is it like this... The frustration and agitation in his chest wouldn't fade, dragging him back to wakefulness every time he tried to fall asleep. Declan spent the night restless, his heart barely hanging on.

"Oh, look at you, shamelessly chasing after her now. Weren't you just as bad before? If anything, you were worse than Declan, considering you cheated while married, at least Declan was single."

"Say that again, I dare you, I'll break your legs right now," Yvan glared at Keaton fiercely, "Get too cocky, and I'll call Lance White to deal with you."

"Why bring Lance into this?" Keaton started to object when Yvan dialed a number, the person on the other end picking up, "Hello? Yvan?"

"Your arch-nemesis is in room 303 at the Ascot Hotel." Yvan said with a mischievous grin, "Oh, and there's a guy here drowning his sorrows in booze, needs a miracle worker like you to cure his heartache."

Hearing the words 'arch-nemesis,' Lance immediately knew it had to be Keaton. Who else in the world would dare to challenge him? He bellowed, "I'm on my way!"
