Matilda gave Chloe a reassuring smile. "It's all right, we've made it through everything now."
Tomorrow, she'd go back to the Boyd Group to start her resignation process. Having held her ground at the Boyd Group for half a year, she felt she had done her part with dignity.
Chloe sighed, knowing Matilda was stubborn and wouldn't be swayed once her mind was made up. Watching her waste days and years on Yvan, Chloe couldn't help but feel it wasn't worth it.
"Alright, if you're set on moving on, then let's not drag this out with him." Chloe glanced at Godfrey. "Does our Matilda look like someone who lacks suitors? Godfrey, isn't your brother free these days? Let's set him up with our girl Matilda for a bit of matchmaking!"
Matilda froze, her mind racing to recall who Godfrey's brother was.
Oh, right, that was Mark Walker, the guy they met briefly when Godfrey's family came to visit Chloe.
Godfrey couldn't help but laugh at Chloe's impulsive plans. "You're really eager to push Matilda back out there, huh?"
"Why not!" Chloe raised her voice, "I want our Matilda to find a new boyfriend as soon as possible. So what if Yvan is back? Is Matilda still going to be the same girl, waiting foolishly for him? She owes Yvan nothing. We have a clear conscience!"
Godfrey wrapped his arm around his girlfriend. "Alright, alright, we have a clear conscience. As it happens, my brother is indeed free lately. Matilda, maybe you should give it a shot and hang out with him."
Matilda was taken aback. "Are you guys serious?"
"How can you say that?" Chloe frowned, clearly disapproving. How could Matilda give up on the hope of happiness just because Yvan had hurt her?
"You've got such great genes; you should have more kids. Otherwise, the world will miss out on a lot of beauties. Trust me, let's find you someone, have a daughter, preferably one who looks like you."
Matilda covered her mouth, "You're quite the matchmaker, aren’t you?"
"Hmph, don't tempt me. I'm telling you, I'll bring Mark over tomorrow, and you two better hit it off fast. Then, get married in style right in front of Yvan, make him regret everything!"
