Adrian froze.

"He's gone, and with him, my ability to love again. So, please don't waste your energy on me." Matilda turned her head away with difficulty. "Adrian, I'm sorry I can't return your feelings. I don't even have the capacity to love anyone right now."

Adrian felt that Matilda's polite tone was a form of torture to him.

"How can you even say that!" Logan was fuming. "I've been waiting out here for twenty minutes! People probably think I'm some annoying kid who runs around bothering the guests!"

"Hahaha!" Adrian, the cause of the trouble, actually laughed. "That's really unfortunate."
