A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 513

When Adrian's provocative words reached Yvan's ears, they were dripping with mischief.

Yvan furrowed his brows slightly, visibly annoyed, "What are you trying to say?"

Over the phone, Adrian chuckled mischievously, "Nothing much, just wanted to mention that I had dinner with Matilda tonight. You know, it's a pretty important night - the eve of the Lunar New Year."

Yvan's brow twitched imperceptibly, a storm seemed to be brewing in his expression.

Unaware of Yvan's mood, Adrian continued to gloat, his laughter ringing with glee, "Are you jealous of me?"

Yvan, unable to contain his frustration any longer, exploded, "Jealous? Of you? Get lost! Go back to the Simpson household; your sister came looking for you at my office!"

Caught off guard by Yvan's outburst, Adrian snapped back, "What’s with the hostility! I even passed along a gift for you! Forget about being rivals; you're blocked!"

Childish!!

Grinding his teeth, Yvan grabbed another file as he passed the conference room and headed back, while Willow was left wondering what had gotten into Adrian. Yvan stormed back to the elevator, looking as if he was on a warpath.

Willow patted her chest, "Scary, what's got into him all of a sudden?"

Carl walked Yvan out, and as Yvan got into his car to head home, Carl finally breathed a sigh of relief and hailed a cab for himself. Yvan, sitting in the passenger seat, listened as the car radio played the latest news – discussing the press conference Yvan had held.

This was his father, stern and meticulous, the only person who supported him in coming clean.

Maybe on this matter, father and son saw eye to eye. Noel's parents had fought constantly when he was young. His father, Yvan's grandfather, was not without his scandals, leading to Opal's depression and endless arguments, casting a shadow of negativity.

Thus, Noel valued family above all, fearing his children would suffer as he had. He adored his wife, Violet, but never expected his son... to follow in his footsteps.

Destroying a perfectly good family, disappointing a sweet girl.

As Yvan walked in, Noel patted his shoulder, "Your grandmother is quite upset with you, try not to argue with her. She's getting on in years; let's be patient with her."
