When Chloe opened her eyes, everyone let out a collective sigh of relief.

Seeing the pale woman before her, Matilda's eyes filled with concern. "How are you feeling now?" she asked.

Godfrey sat quietly to the side, his gaze intense and piercing. Chloe felt the warmth of his stare and turned to give him a weak smile.

Despite feeling so aggrieved, she still managed a smile for him, causing Godfrey's heart to ache. "Does it still hurt?" he asked.

Chloe's voice was hoarse. "My throat still hurts."

Matilda teased her, "Your voice is all raspy. You should probably stay silent for a few days, let it heal."

Chloe nodded, choosing to keep her mouth shut.

Her fever had caused inflammation, making even swallowing painful.

So, she resorted to communicating through gestures, with Matilda attempting to interpret Chloe's actions.

"Did Declan catch up?"

Chloe nodded.

Matilda patted her hand. "No worries, you're back with us now. I've scrapped my plans of moving abroad. I'll stay here to look after you."

Chloe's eyes lit up, and she gestured frantically.

"Really, truly. Criss has been staying locally too, though he's been busy lately. When he's free, we'll invite him over for dinner." Matilda looked back, "How about Godfrey takes care of the cooking?"

Godfrey agreed without hesitation, and Chloe, like a child, began to gesture wildly again.

"Logan? Yeah, Logan was here earlier, but his kid got tired, so Godfrey had the driver take them home. I'll bring him by to see you tomorrow afternoon."

Chloe continued her silent communication.

"You mean the recent chatter about me online?" Matilda laughed it off, her demeanor incredibly relaxed. "I'm fine, really. It hasn't affected me one bit."

Chloe, who had lost weight because of Declan, was gradually getting back to health under Godfrey's care, her complexion improving significantly.

When the nurses came for their rounds, they couldn't help but feel touched, whispering among themselves after leaving, "The girl in the VIP ward has finally found a good man."
