A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 395

This was no longer a simple brawl of gears and fists; it had turned into a real, bloody skirmish—a matter of life and death.

Yet amidst the chaos, Yvan cradled Logan with one arm, the boy nestled in his embrace. Their gazes met, nearly identical.

Cold. Dark.

Matilda glanced up, shaken by the striking similarity between Yvan and Logan's profiles—father and son. The boy, leaning against his chest, furrowed his brow and pointed to one of the men in the crowd. "That's the guy who was messing with Mommy!"

"And that one! The tall guy! And the one with the yellow sneakers!"

Every man Logan pointed out was soon met with Yvan's deadly gaze, followed by a thunderous echo of gunfire from outside.

The accused fell one by one, blood spilling from their bodies, even causing Esme to shudder in fear.

“When will the master return?” she asked her servants in a panic, but no answer came.

“Time to call for reinforcements?”

From behind, Declan called out to Yvan, “Don’t let them off easy! While Hadrian's away, let’s take down the Jungle Union once and for all!”

Yvan sneered at Declan, “Why don’t you do it?”

Declan crossed his arms, “Ha! When Hadrian comes seeking revenge, he’ll come after you, not me.”

At that moment, as Godfrey was escorting Chloe and Matilda to Yvan's side, a voice echoed from the entrance, “Esme! The master is back!”

Yvan's glare sharpened, sensing Logan's tremble, aware that the real showdown was about to begin.

Matilda’s defiant stare hit Hadrian like a slap. He didn't know the full story, but one look at Esme’s face, and he understood.

“Get out!” Hadrian, in a fit of rage, hurled an ashtray from the messy coffee table at Esme, “A disgrace, one and all!”

“Dad!” Chad stepped forward as his mother was struck, feeling the blow as if it were his own, “Don’t do this. Let’s first understand what happened…”

“What’s there to talk about?”

Matilda looked up, her eyes icy, “Your wife wanted to have me gang-raped, beaten, and humiliated. I'm alive because my son pointed a gun at them, forcing them to stop. Mr. Crowe, it’s clear now, isn’t it? Who exactly did you trade me to?”

Shock flickered in Hadrian’s eyes. Who could have told Matilda about the deal?
