In just a few seconds, Byron's mood went through a rollercoaster.
He immediately laughed. "Does this mean that Mia doesn't hate me so much anymore?"
Athena pursed her lips and shrugged. "That I can't guarantee."
Just like that, Byron entered the house.
However, at lunch, Mia did not come down.
Alice packed her lunch and sent it to the studio.
"Mia does this when she's painting. It's not personal," Athena comforted Byron.
Byron nodded silently.
After lunch.
Athena did not sleep well last night, so she went upstairs to take a nap.
When she woke up, there were only Aiden and Byron left in the house.
They were playing chess in the living room.
Athena was wearing thin white home clothes, and her hair was a little messy. Because she had just woken up from sleep, her mind was still a little blurry as she asked Byron, "Why haven't you left yet?"
"I've got nothing to do even if I go back, so I decided to play chess with Aiden." Byron forced himself to look away from Athena.
"Aiden, didn't you take a nap?" Athena sat next to Aiden, subconsciously touching his forehead.
"I've been sleeping so much every day that my mind is getting slower," Aiden replied.
Athena was speechless.
She sat next to Aiden and watched them finish a game of chess.
"Okay." Byron looked at Aiden. "Aiden, go and rest for a while, okay? Your Mom and I have something to talk about."
"Okay," Aiden responded and packed the chessboard. When he got up, he glanced at his parents and said, "Talk to each other nicely. If you guys quarrel again..."
"What do you want me to do?" Byron asked solemnly.
Athena looked at him and said casually, "Take care of the children."
Byron was startled. "What?"
"Aiden and Mia need someone to accompany them. The nanny and the maid are definitely not enough. In the past, it was difficult for me to take care of them by myself. Now that their Dad is back, you have to take responsibility for this."
"I see." Byron nodded.
"During this period, I only have one request." Athena continued, "You can take Aiden and Mia to live in any place you find convenient, but it must be on the premise that they are both willing. You must not force them to do things they don't like."
"Of course!"
Byron nodded seriously.
"It's decided, then?"
