Crispin paused for a moment before standing up. "Then I'll leave it to you, Manfred."
"Please, follow me, Mr. Atkinson," Bonnie said, her cheeks flushed. She hadn't expected Manfred to enter her room today.
Regret washed over her. She should've asked Teri to ensure the room was spotless and that every detail was perfect. A hint of lavender or chamomile would have filled the space with a calming fragrance, leaving a pleasant impression. But it was too late now.
As Manfred stood, his gaze briefly met Vivian's.
Vivian gave a playful smile. "Did I startle you?"
It wasn't the time for questions, not with others present.
Manfred held her gaze a moment longer. He might've kept staring if not for Vernon's gentle nudge.
Vivian followed Manfred into the room.
Once inside, Vivian's eyes brightened at the sight of the room. Bonnie truly had exquisite taste in decor—everything was arranged thoughtfully. It was clear she was a woman with an artistic soul.
Several landscape paintings hung on the walls. Based on their signatures, she could tell they were Bonnie's work.
A woman who was both talented and beautiful was such a rare combination.
It was fortunate for Manfred that Bonnie harbored feelings for him. Yet, upon entering the room, his eyes immediately sought out Vivian, lingering on her with a look that spoke of both unanswered questions and intense desire.
