Warren and Opal were taken aback. "They broke up?"
They assumed that if Alina wasn't with Theodore, it must have been because she wanted to stay with Harvey. The news that they had broken up so easily caught them completely off guard.
"You think we'd believe you just because you said they broke up?" Opal rolled her eyes.
These wealthy individuals carried themselves with an air of superiority, their noses lifted high as if they were above everyone else. They assumed everyone else was a fool who could be easily tricked with a few words.
Godfrey smirked coldly, suppressing the urge to curse Alina out loud.
Just because Theodore was her first love didn't mean she should idolize him. He couldn't imagine what kind of person Theodore would turn out to be, considering the behavior of his parents.
If Alina threw everything away for this so-called first love, she would regret it. He was certain that regret would come crashing down on her sooner or later.
Godfrey had been Harvey's classmate for years and knew him well. Once Harvey ended a relationship, there was no going back, especially when it involved infidelity on Alina's part.
"Believe it or not, I don't care. Right now, you're disrupting our employees from getting to work. There are only three minutes left before the workday begins. Any losses caused by your delay will result in a lawsuit, and we'll be seeking compensation," Godfrey said flatly.
He had no patience for people like this, and there was no need to sugarcoat things. Reasoning with them would be pointless.
The mention of compensation stunned Warren and Opal. The idea of being sued for money was beyond what they had anticipated.
"If I were you, I'd leave now. Our company has a legal team. Even if you plead poverty, you'll still be forced to pay. You might even become a defendant in court. That could affect your son's future—his job prospects, and even the future of your grandchildren," someone advised.
"Why bother explaining to them? It's obvious they're here to stir up trouble. Going on and on about Harvey stealing their son's girlfriend—wait until they're facing charges. Then they'll understand how foolish they had been to make such a scene."
Warren and Opal froze in shock when they realized that becoming defendants could not only affect Theodore but also jeopardize the future of their grandchildren.
