Felix stared in bewilderment at Clement’s intense reaction. “What happened?” 

Suddenly, Clement released his grip and let out a bitter laugh. He said, “Never mind. Perhaps this is my fate. I shouldn’t blame others for it.” 

Then, he got into his car and drove away, leaving Felix completely confused but certain something serious had occurred. 

At the clinic, Felix could not sit still and finally decided to call Willow. “I wanted to ask about Clement-” 

“Don’t bother!” Willow snapped. “Felix, don’t contact us anymore. I wanted to yell at you, but Clement is right–sometimes, we have to accept our fate instead of blaming others. 

“You did save Darcy, and we’ll always remember that. Let’s leave it at that.” 

The line went dead, and when Felix tried calling back, he discovered he had been blocked. 

“Damn it!” He slammed his hand on the desk in genuine anger. 

Willow had been the key to reconciling with Xena, and just when things were looking promising, this mystery situation had erupted. 

30 minutes later, Kurt arrived at the clinic and immediately sensed the tense atmosphere. He had never seen Felix with such a grim expression. It was completely different from his usual 

cheerful demeanor. 

“Did you tell Ryan about Jeremiah’s situation?” Felix asked. 

Kurt nodded quickly. “Yes, Mr. Gibson said he’d handle it, and I shouldn’t worry about it anymore.” 

If Ryan had said he would handle it, Jeremiah should have been an insignificant existence to him, easily dealt with through a single phone call. This made the situation even more puzzling, as it should not have affected Willow and Clement at all. 

“Did you bring the person I asked for?” Felix asked. 

“Yes, Oscar Marsh–a senior executive at Clement’s company. Nothing happens there without his knowledge,” Kurt replied. 

Later, Oscar, a nervous–looking man in his 50s, entered the room. Being summoned by Kurt in Gray City rarely meant good news. 

“Don’t be nervous. I just have a few questions,” Felix said, though seeing Oscar’s overly eager nodding, he decided to cut the pleasantries.
