Felix stood there stunned for a long moment before asking, “Are you serious? What about your grandfather?” 

“He’s given us his blessing and said he won’t interfere anymore. I’m not sure exactly what changed his mind, but he’s approved.” 

Felix could barely contain his excitement. His feelings for Xena were genuine. And now that he had a chance to cure Madam Spring’s poison without dying in the process, everything seemed perfect. 

Without thinking, he swept Xena up in his arms and spun her around. She did not resist his actions either. 

After dedicating so many years to her career and reaching the pinnacle as the Phoenix Warlord, perhaps it was also time to find happiness in love. There was nowhere higher to climb professionally, so why not have it all? 

Later, Felix met up with Edmund. They then flew to a remote city where a car awaited them at the airport.

According to Averill, Medic’s Haven was not anything special. It was just a bunch of people obsessed with medical research and the overwhelming smell of herbs that smelled revolting. 

Their car wound up a spiraling mountain road. They had not seen another vehicle for hours on the way. 

“This is the private road to Medic’s Haven. They built it themselves, so it’s usually empty,” Edmund explained. 

Felix kept staring out the window as he spoke, “Mr. Fairfax, we’re far from civilization now. Why don’t you tell me what’s really going on? I’m only here because of your connection to Xena. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have this chance at all.”
