Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 1879

"Sandy? Sandy?"

In a daze, Sandy thought she heard her brother calling her name over and over. Slowly, she opened her eyes to see Kiran standing right in front of her. The room was dim, and it was just the two of them there.

As soon as she saw her brother, tears streamed down Sandy's face. She hugged Kiran tightly, sobbing, "Brother! I saw Harold, Dad, and Mom!"

Sandy had never met her mother in real life. Her mom's face was only known to her through photographs. But just moments ago, she had vividly seen both her dad and mom right there in front of her, as if it were all real.

It was just a dream.

"Silly girl, it was only a dream," Kiran's voice was soft and soothing.

Yet Sandy cried even harder. "Brother, there are so many things I never got to tell Dad and Mom. I wish I could talk to them!"

In the dream, she hadn't seemed to grasp this longing at all.

Kiran smiled gently, patting Sandy's back to comfort her. "There, there, don't cry."

"But..."

"When happiness is right in front of us, we often take it for granted. It's only when it's gone that we feel regret. Even if you keep dreaming, your dream self won't understand the real world's pain. Jumping between reality and dreams will just pull you deeper into the trap."
