Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 1852

Colby raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He extended a hand towards Sophie, making her think he was being kind. But just as she reached for it, he snatched it back with a teasing grin, sending another splash of water flying. This time, it was even bigger than before.

“Ahhhh!” Sophie shrieked, flailing around in the fountain and angrily smacking the water. Colby couldn't help but smirk at her reaction. There was something undeniably satisfying about a little harmless revenge.

Not far off, the red-haired guy from earlier rushed over, concern etched on his face. He quickly helped Sophie out of the fountain, fussing over her. “Sophie, what happened? Are you okay?”

He draped his jacket over her shoulders, shielding her from the cold. Colby watched the scene unfold, a strange feeling gnawing at him. They really were childhood friends, their bond unshakeable.

As the ruckus grew, Colby’s mom appeared, her expression stern. “Colby, what’s going on? You can’t just bully a girl like that. Go apologize to Sophie right now.”

Colby glanced at Sophie, who was now wrapped in Harold’s comforting embrace, and said with a casual shrug, “Sophie, I’m sorry.”

“I don’t accept your apology!” Sophie snapped, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. Colby felt the thrill of his prank fade away, replaced by an uncomfortable mix of guilt and regret.
