Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 1784

Alec had heard all kinds of tales about the past. Twenty years ago, the Four Families faced a major crisis, nearly being wiped out by The Silent Shadows, with infighting almost tearing them apart.

In these tough times, Fiona's parents, along with the Four Families, teamed up with allies from Summerfield, Duskhaven, and even abroad from Harbor City to take on The Silent Shadows. In the end, they managed to defeat them.

This chapter of history was significant enough to be etched into the annals of the Four Families. Unfortunately, Alec was born too late to witness such a historic moment firsthand.

"Finish your dinner and then head upstairs to tackle your homework. My parents told me to stick with you for the next few days, so I'm crashing at your place. Uncle Shaw's already on board with it and made sure I keep you on task," Alec said, setting down his fork.

Alec and Fiona had grown up side by side, spending most of their time at the Aldridge Estate. Sophie and Colby were always busy with work and later spent years globe-trotting. Jenna and Adler were even more unpredictable, making up for lost time with their travels, spending so few days in Devonport you could count them on one hand.

They became experts at traveling the world. So, it was Harold and James who mainly looked after them. Alec's personality mirrored Harold's and James's in some ways.

Over time, Alec got used to looking after Fiona, especially when it came to making sure she did her homework. He was nothing if not diligent.

"This time, you're too late," Fiona said, rushing to the sofa and pulling out her completed homework from her backpack. "I've finished all my assignments today. Surprised?"

Seeing Fiona unusually on top of her homework made Alec uneasy. "Fiona, what are you up to?"
