Meanwhile, over at the Pollard estate abroad, things were getting intense. Sophie and Colby had been burning the midnight oil, combing through every possible lead overseas. Kiran had his team meticulously go over all the intel Adler had dug up.
“We’ve got him!” Sandy burst into Kiran’s office, clutching a stack of freshly printed reports.
Sophie and Colby, who hadn’t caught a wink of sleep in two days, were jolted awake by the news.
“Quick, is it this guy?” Sandy said, spreading the documents across the table for everyone to see.
The profile showed a man in his forties. He had a face that was both distinguished and rather handsome.
Sophie studied the photo, her expression turning icy. The man in the picture was none other than Isaac, who had been kicked out of the Russell family ages ago.
“This guy studied IT in college, but let’s just say his grades didn’t set the world on fire. After graduating, he opted for a gig at an electronics store rather than furthering his studies. He’s got a rap sheet too—got into fights back in the day and was constantly in trouble at school. Plus, he’s from Devonport,” Sandy explained.
Sandy didn't know Isaac personally. The report listed him under the alias Ethan Scott.
With this revelation, Sophie realized why their search had been all over the place. Their adversary wasn’t some mastermind like The Silent Shadows; all their previous theories were complete bunk. Turns out, Adler was right all along. Their opponent was a nobody, barely even a blip on the radar.
Seeing the change in Sophie’s expression, Sandy asked, “Sophie, is everything okay?”
