Under the starry night sky, the city lights and the glow from countless homes stretched out before them, like twinkling stars in the vast expanse above. Sophie sat in the Ferris wheel, clutching Gordon's arm, watching as the city slowly shrank beneath them. This city was always beautiful, but tonight it was the most enchanting.
Sophie playfully swung her legs, and when Gordon wasn't paying attention, she sneakily took out her phone to snap a picture of his profile. But she forgot to turn off the flash, and just as the shutter clicked, Gordon turned to look at her. In the photo, Gordon and the city blended seamlessly with the stars, creating a perfect portrait. Yet, neither the city nor the stars could outshine the gentle look in Gordon's eyes.
"Gordon, why did you have Colby pick me up today? You know I can't stand him," Sophie pouted, glancing at the photo on her phone. Mentioning Colby, Gordon's gaze drifted into the distance, his expression as calm as ever: "If there's anyone in the world who could protect and care for you more than I can, that person would be Colby."
"I don't want anyone else to protect or care for me. I only need you, Gordon," Sophie shrugged it off, snapping selfies as she spoke. "Besides, I'm your future wife. How could you push me onto someone else?"
Gordon watched Sophie making silly faces for her selfies, and a warm smile spread across his face. At that moment, fireworks burst into the sky in a dazzling display. Sophie's eyes lit up with excitement, "Gordon, look! Fireworks!" But Gordon didn’t turn to look; his eyes stayed fixed tenderly on Sophie.
