"I didn't do it!"
Jenna playfully smacked Adler on the head. "C'mon, hurry up and check the computer!"
Sophie and Colby exchanged a knowing look before all four of them gathered around the screen.
Adler leaned in, "This account we're looking at? It's got tens of thousands of users. Might not sound like much, but for a site like this, it's pretty mind-blowing. If The Silent Shadows are all about the rich and powerful, then these users are basically every wealthy person and up-and-comer out there. I hacked into an account that's not used much, so we should be off the radar."
They skimmed through the site's content, eager to find any clues as quickly as possible.
"Check this out!"
Sophie pointed to something familiar on the webpage.
The name of the white powder rang a bell. After a moment, she recalled it was the same drug Odie had injected her with back in Summerfield.
Sophie frowned, "This drug... didn't Odie order a halt on its production? How's it still floating around the black market?"
"Well, you can't exactly slap a trademark on this stuff. Someone probably whipped up a similar, or even identical, batch and started mass-producing it."
Adler added, "I remember the Mintons came up with this, and it turned out to be super addictive. Loads of folks got hooked, and stopping it suddenly could be deadly. Odie didn’t give a damn about those addicts back then; they must've found other ways, and The Silent Shadows is one of the channels for this stuff."
"I'll go ask Odie."
Colby got up, ready to confront Odie.
Sophie didn't stop him. Instead, she turned to Adler, "Think you can dig up who’s been buying this powder?"
