Sophie nodded in agreement. Sandy, on the other hand, couldn’t forget that Leticia was once Odie's fiancée. Back in the day, Leticia’s scandalous lifestyle and her tragic end, jumping off a building, were all over the headlines. To top it off, her father, Daniel, wasn’t exactly a saint either.
“But Daniel and Leticia are both gone now. So, what’s the plan with the Gibbs family?” Sandy questioned.
“The Gibbs family is currently under Kena’s leadership. I’ll drive you there soon, and Kena will keep you hidden,” Sophie explained, handing Sandy an earring with a tracker. “Keep this on you at all times. Don’t lose it. If I’m wrong, the Gibbs family’s estate is the safest place. But if I’m right, things might get tricky.”
Although Sophie didn’t lay it all out, Sandy caught on quickly. “You think Kena might be with The Silent Shadows? You want me at the Gibbs family’s place to make it look like The Silent Shadows kidnapped me, to create tension between them and my brother?”
“Impressive!” Sophie realized she had underestimated Sandy’s wit until now. Sandy, brimming with pride, replied, “Of course! When I set my mind to learning, I pick things up fast!”
“Knowing how risky this is, maybe you should reconsider…” Sophie suggested.
“I’ve thought it all through,” Sandy replied earnestly. “If you and my brother end up at odds, I’ll be torn no matter who gets hurt. The only way to mend things is to unite you both against a common foe.”
