"I'll figure out what's happening!" Kena declared, starting to head over.
Sophie quickly caught her arm, giving a slight shake of her head. "No need."
"But..." Kena hesitated, words hanging in the air. Was she really supposed to just stand by while her husband was all chummy with another woman?
Colby still hadn’t glanced at Sophie; it was like they were strangers, no eye contact at all. The guests around them seemed to revel in the drama.
Yet, Sophie’s face was calm, her smile unwavering as she greeted the guests, as if Colby was invisible to her.
"Mr. Colby, that’s Ms. Sophie, right? She’s stunning. Why don’t you go talk to her?" Gina batted her eyelashes, all charm.
A sweet, innocent woman like Gina was a magnet for men, those wide-eyed looks making anyone want to protect her.
Colby replied, almost dismissively, "She is beautiful."
Noticing Colby’s reluctance to chat further, Gina grabbed his arm, "Did you two have a spat? I know a trick to patch things up quickly. Want to try it, Mr. Colby?"
Gina didn’t seem to mean any harm. Before Colby could react, she was already pulling him toward the dance floor outside.
The fact that the Spellman family’s goddaughter was this cozy with Colby set tongues wagging. Everyone knew Colby wasn’t one for mingling with women, except Sophie. Who would've thought there’d be an exception?
